Dr. Yuanyuan Zhao is a senior staff software engineer at Datadog. She works on a large range of observability systems, focusing on data collection, cross product data sampling and retention, and deriving insights from the underlying data.
Prior to Datadog, Dr. Zhao was a senior staff software engineer at Google for ~16 years, working on storage, databases (e.g., Bigtable, Spanner) and security systems. She has deep knowledge and experience in distributed systems and has successfully led multiple Google-wide efforts.
She holds a Ph.D in computer science and started her career in IBM T.J. Watson Research Center. She is a certified IAABO official of high school basketball and plays classical piano in her spare time.
