From Research to Detections, how Datadog Identified and Acted on Risk in the AMI Supply Chain

Cloud security research is critical to continuously validate that the assumptions we make in the shared responsibility model continue to be true. In this session join Seth Art, Senior Security Advocate and Researcher from Datadog to hear our research methodology. Gain insight on the journey from ideation to proof of concept attack in the AMI supply chain.  We will highlight the end-to-end risk, some of the potential mistakes engineers can make in code that consumes public AMIs, and demonstrate how that research has informed novel detections in the Datadog product.  Attendees will leave understanding the nature of the attack, preventative controls, and see how findings surface inside of the Datadog Security Product.
