André Arko spends his nights and weekends as head of open source at the non-profit Ruby Central, where he coordinates the RubyGems project, serving billions of Ruby packages to over ten million users every month. He started building web applications with Ruby in 2004, joined the Bundler team in 2009, eventually co-authored The Ruby Way from Addison-Wesley, and is constantly searching for companies willing to support RubyGems with developers, money, or both.
